It is with deepest regret that I have to inform you that the author of this site has died. He suffered a stroke not long after publishing BRIGHT LIGHTS & EASELS: MABEL IN MANHATTAN and became progressively weaker over time. He died earlier this year (2023).
He was an extremely talented man, and as a lasting testament to his academic skill his family would like to leave this website running. (We have also just published, unedited by us, the final article that he was working on.) The content of this site has evidently encouraged many to pursue their interests in early movies / Hollywood, and we hope that it will continue to help newcomers and regular readers for a long time to come.
